Art Nelson Paints Mural for Deal Elementary
School Cafeteria -
November 2008
Deal
Elementary School students were recently treated to a special work from
Art Nelson. A lively mural depicting two dolphins chasing bait
fish in a circular pattern against a light-blue sea background now
adorns the cafeteria. Painted on four carefully
measured and trimmed pieces of plywood, the installation required
precision placement and the help of friends with the assembly.
This is the largest piece that Art has ever created.
The feeding frenzy is appropriate to the location, as lunches are
distributed to hungry students through this counter window. The
Deal School mascot also happens to be a dolphin. Art's grandson,
AJ, is a student here, and is very proud of his Pop! |
